Marcia D. Fountain has been a leading force in entrepreneurial training since 1998, equipping thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs nationwide with the knowledge and skills needed for success. She is the President and CEO of the Minority Entrepreneurs Training Association, Inc. (M.E.T.A., Inc.), a respected 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a membership of over 750 individuals. Committed to empowering individuals through comprehensive personal development and entrepreneurial training, M.E.T.A., Inc. provides tailored support, strategic resources, and valuable networking opportunities. Marcia served as the Interim Director for the Werth Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at CT State Community College Housatonic (November 2022-February 2024), further solidifying her commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation within her community. For almost three decades, Marcia has been a steadfast advocate for entrepreneurship, providing personalized consulting, seminars, and comprehensive training programs to startups and existing business owners alike. A multifaceted professional, Marcia boasts a diverse array of roles and talents. She is an accomplished entrepreneur, author, dynamic speaker, seasoned trainer, CT licensed realtor and certified online educator sanctioned by the CT Department of Motor Vehicle.
Committed to her community, she also continues to serve as Pastor of Window of Faith Christian Center, Inc., in Bridgeport for over 16 years, enriching the lives of countless individuals through faith-based leadership.
Marcia's artistic abilities transcend conventional boundaries, as evidenced by her remarkable talents as a songwriter and recording artist. Notably, her latest composition, "O’ Amistad," eloquently narrates the story of the Amistad Freedom Schooner, showcasing Marcia's artistic excellence and steadfast commitment to advancing social justice causes. Additionally, for four consecutive years, Marcia served as the featured guest soloist at the Anti-Defamation League’s Annual Voices of Unity event, further solidifying her reputation as a distinguished performer and advocate for unity. With two albums released under her independent label, she has commanded stages across the United States and Europe. As an author, Marcia has self-published three books, offering valuable insights and guidance to her readers. The latest book is entitled “Start & Grow a Business in Urban America”. Her contributions have not gone unnoticed, as she has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades throughout her illustrious career. Notably, Marcia was honored with the Andrew Heskill Award from Time Warner Corporation for her tireless efforts as an entrepreneurial trainer and empowerment speaker, as well as five prestigious Eagle’s Excellence Awards, recognizing her visionary leadership, international influence, musical talent, and commitment to excellence.
A dedicated member of her community, Marcia furthers her impact and connections as an active member in organizations such as the Rotary Club (Foundation Board Member), Community Economic Development Fund (Foundation Board Member), Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce, and Bridgeport Regional Business Council, CT Public Television (Advisory Board) to name a few.
